I think I saw around 6 total in those shots (that's just in the shots). Each dark circle is a follicle - not an egg. The eggs are microscopic and are just inside the follicle. As the follicle of fluid develops and grows, so does the egg. The follicle with cross hairs through it - that's their tool measuring it. If you look down at the bottom of that screen you'll see a number like 9 and 7 (with decimals). That's the height and width. They'd probably call that follicle size 8 then (average). You'll be ready to trigger when most of your follicles are 18-20 or so, but maybe lower depending on your protocol. If you look at your chart you'll probably see some words that say "Push to 17/18" or something like that - that's your chart instructions of when to trigger, based on your personal biology. FOr what it's worth, when I looked at my own scans, I saw a screen full of dark circles - couldn't count them. But again, as we know, I kinda overstimulated. But for each of your dark circular areas, that's an egg! And the closer they all are in size, the better, because you want as many of them to be mature but not overmature when you trigger.

I think this sonogram is only my left ovary. If that is the case, the doctor's comment that I have 12is right on. Yeah me. I have a dozen eggs.
